Incredible $1.29 climate control fix

My daughters 1996 328is with auto climate control recently started cutting on and off. Control display goes dark and the fan stops blowing but I could hear the compressor still running. Took a quick look through Google and found a very thorough fix on "Richard's Web Site" going through a very simple replacement of a bad capacitor on the printed circuit board in the control head. Dropped by the electronic store last night and picked up the replacement capacitor and in about 25 minutes, voila' fixed. I searched through this site but could not find the info here. Thought if anyone else was having the same problem they would appreciate this information.

nice im having the same problem mine freezes up and sometimes when i start the car it freezes immediately and makes a TERRIBLE crunch noise like its kicking on the compressor at the wrong time.. every time it froze it would drag the car a bit and sound like a scraping bumper. i had resaldered some points and it helped with that but its still darkening and freezing up on me... THANKS MAN ill give his website a look
