Just had my engine changed, had 220,000 k's and the price i was quoted for changing a leaking head gasket is the same as an engine with 30k. The knew engine seems to go find besides one small problem which has happened twice now. I would be driving along at 30-50kph then all of a sudden i wouldnt have any power, i could drop the pedal and no response, then 2 seconds l8r away she goes fine.. Im totally confused, anyone know wat this could be?
I wouldn't be too worried yet. Have you checked the throttle cable to make sure they installed properly? Check it and make sure you can move it freely without any snags. They could have also messed up a little bit with the fuel lines, or perhaps there was some gunk build up that is slowly making it's way out causing problems. Or is this a problem of the tranny not downshifting quickly once in a while (if automatic)? Basically just take it back and tell them what's up and tell them to fix it.
the engine w/ 30k and the leaking head, the 30k would pry be moremoney in the long run if u had the engine swap done by them...think about it. i really dono whats wrong so dont quote me on it, it was just the 1st thing that came to my mind
