hello to all
i did a search but found no fix only unanswer questions
i have a 4/92 325i sedan car has been good then the last few days idle goes
to 1000 to 1300 and it won't come down only a few times did it come down but as fast that it did it goes back up the minute i hit the gas.
i took the icv out 2 times spray it with carb cleaner seem to work for a minute. second if i tap on the housing with a long screw driver while the car is running the idle goes down a little bit. if i disconnect the electrical switch to the icv then the idle surges so i'm assuming the icv is ok.??? any help or guidance is more than needed thanks
They are one of the same basically , you hav'nt answered? do you have one fitted? it will be between your air box and engine in laymans terms, with a connector plugged in the top/side.

They are one of the same basically , you hav'nt answered? do you have one fitted? it will be between your air box and engine in laymans terms, with a connector plugged in the top/side.
ok i just tried it let call warm up from been cold all day temp is in the middle nice heat coming out and the idle is at 600 rev it a few times came back down to 600 i'll try it tommorrow when i drive it and report thanks for the reply
ok update this morning on my way to work
every time i had to stop engine rev stood around 1000rpms the fell back down to 600 i'll see what happens on the way home i hate intermitten problems
yes all the basics have been cover from front to back
this all started while waiting for a light the guy next to me with what seem a very powerfull cb radio every time i see him squeeze the microphone my idle would jump then it has been doing it since then like rf got in to electronic components.??
