Anyways my buddies 318i convertible has been running like crap.. Just by driving it and disconnecting his maf sensor and adjusting the throttle i noticed it was running better
My question Is :
Im thinking his ICV is shot now for 1994 they have 2 models of ICV a T shaped and also another one When I looked at his car I noticed it was a bosch but couldnt see if it was t shaped or L shaped which one is it
Also what is the Idle specs in nuetral and drive??
I was also thinking maybe crankshaft sensor I know when I replaced mine in my benz it seemed to run alot better what you think..
His car seems like when he pushes on gas it just slowly creeps up to speed has absolutely no power. I did a compression check all things fine .. Like i said when i hooked up tha maf (by the air filter) it ran worse but even when I disconnected it all took off the whole maf and ran straight air into it it also was chugging but not as bad what ya think am i wrong??
Could be the TPS or if a cat is fitted maybe shot, in as much as its collapsed and thus no esape for the gases. I dont think its the ICV, best test , remove the exhaust from the manifold....bit noisy but that will either eliminate or confirm CAT.

yeah i was thinking about the cat i went under there and smacked it a few times major dust came shooting out I told him that it may be the cat but
since i cant pull one for that car It maybe useless .. You think instead of unbolting it I could just take my grinder cut it off and then but new adapter maybe crimp it get some tape? i work HVAC so should be no problem???
