I personally wouldnt put anything in my computer that wasnt proven......you have to be careful with that sort of thing. Theres alot at stake and could end up with replacement of your computer. For 250 go to turnermotorsports.com and get something reputable.......that way if anything goes wrong, you have somebody to call
hey
yah but i think you can only get by with the cheaper ebay chip if you have OBD I.
for OBDII cars I would recommened the TMS shark injector, worked good for me.

For clarification is a shark injector its own chip? Like an AC Schnitzer chip? Are there any performance gains, or does it just remove the limiters.

all the shark injector does is reprogram your computer to, from what i've learned.
- remove top speed limits
- change how car responds to rapid change in petal movement
- change compression ratios in the cylinders
- change shift points to optimize rpm's.
anyone agree? i think thats what it does. im positive that it removes top speed and changes shift point

on top of that, I have heard that it does produce some decent HP and TQ gains, so long as it is used on a 2.5 or 2.8L engine (10-15hp, 10-15lbs of TQ). It doesn't do anything besides what you listed on the 318 BMWs...Best thing to do is research it with the company.

hey
yea i think blanton has hit it all....if u have a 6 cyl 3 series with OBD II , I heard its one of the best chips...this was when i did my research a month ago...it has definately significantly improved throttle response and some good hp gains at higher rpms too

Go anythign Dinan, Tms, or acs. Ebay has remapped chips like the real ones for a fraction of the price so they are great. I don't believe shark injection adds horsepower, but just removes the limiter and changes throttle response adn such. Thtat is for OBDII cars. OBDI cars will gain horsepower, and since ur running an OBDI, yo need a chip, and that will improve your horsepower/toruqe

These are the engine management systems. They tell your car how much gas tos spit in with the air mixture for what kind of driving you are doing and so on. anything 96 and after has ODB-II. These can't be chipped unless you have it professionally remapped and modified ( and have to be "reprogrammed" using a Shark Injector from Conforti. You have a 94, so you are ODB-I and can just chuck a chip into there. There should be some DIY if you search the Forum. Based on the couple people who have been using the Ebay chips, maybe it isn't a bad idea...definitely research it a little more.
