I need to learn more....

Hey, I am TOTALLY new to the car scene. Can anybody recommend some books I could possibly read to better understand my car. 1995 325is . I love this car, and I don't want to put it to bad use. The thing about my town is that I can't just go chill at a shop and learn, I'm going to have to learn myself, and I figure books + rebuilding engines from junkyard + talking to friends who know a lot about cars = satisfaction. Or maybe I am an idiot, which is why I come to you for help!! Please give me an idea on how to learn about cars! Thank you!

Well I can tell you how I learned about engines. I built a mini bike with my dad. Then I tore apart the engine to rebuild it to see what it's like. I think it's loads of fun. The fine tuning is always a bitch for those little 2 cycle engines.

I HIGHLY recomend www.howstuffworks.com it's AWESOME. If you think you need to learn about something, go there and learn about it.

And to the other guy who initially asked the question. If you wanna learn more about repairing your car or performing maitenance goto amazon.com and type in "haynes bmw" you should get a list of manuals and choose the one that corresponds with your car. Their great.

The VERY FIRST thing I bought was the Bentley 3 series E36 manual...you could build a BMW with this bookl. For about $56 you can pick one up from Amazon.com. I highly recommend it.
