Question I'm thinking of purchasing a 96-99 328 Coupe...

I'm thinking of getting a BMW for my next car.... however I haven't settled on which model.

I'm thinking of purchasing a 96-99 328 Coupe, and I have a lot of questions.

-What should I look out for?
-What are common issues with those years?
-Is there a way to get a spec sheet of what the car came with from the factory based on the VIN #?
-Is rust a major concern with these cars, and if so, where should I look for it?
-what engine/transmission trouble could I expect?
-How do I know if the car has an LSD or not?
-What is the difference between the "M-Package" and the "Premium Package" and how can I tell if the car has it?

Is there anything else I be aware of?

Thanks
Merlin

Thanks.... I think I'm leaning more towards an M3 at this point.

Cheers,
