Hey I just updated the grill on my 1995 E36 Beemer! I looks so much better! and It was a cheap mod as well! ($45.00 on Ebay w/ shipping).
The new grills took me a second to pop in!
But the old OEM grills were crazy hard to pull out!
It took me about 20 minutes to figure it out, and when I couldn't, it took me another 10 minutes to force them out with out warping my nose panel.
The quality of the New E46 style Chrome Grills was pretty good too. Just as strong as the OEM ones! Plus, the chrome doesn't look gaudy or cheap either very OEM!

Looks great- BTW did you have to replace the grill surround? the metal panel that the grill mounts in?
I have an e36 - ti 96 and I had to replace the surround to get the new grills.

Yeah I order the whole grill and grill frame-see pic below (not the nose panel section) The aftermarket E46 style grill I got was specifically made for the E36 1992-1996 nose panel. So it clicked right in. The nose panels on 1997-1999 E36 are different so if I had updated with an OEM BMW 1997-1999 E36 grill then I would have to update the nose panel as well (spending money). But its just cheaper to get the aftermarket grill IMO, plus it seems to be just as good quality as the OEM one.
BTW, If you decide to get aftermarkets on Ebay Do not get the grills being sold out of Tiawan or somewhere in Asia, I heard those are bad quality grills!

Nice!! do you have the actual link of the ebay seller that you bought them from?
I bought a set of blacked out pre-97 grills off of ebay a couple of weeks ago. The company sent me the wrong ones and I can't return them now. Anyone interested in them?
