I have just had an accident

Hai,
My 3281 has just had an accident.Only a minor accident.The other car that is a 4x4 hit the front and the back door.
Now i have two solutions-1)Change to the new doors by the agent.
2)Or just use bit of hammer work to straighted the door metalwork

Go with new doors. Easy replacement and THEIR insurance is paying, correct?

if you feel confident enough to get the dents out urself, do that and pocket the insurance money. but i'd recommend just buying new doors.

new doors my buddy just broke his door pretty good, and we were going to pound it out, but it makes way more sense to just buy a new one specially if they are paying for it!

Thank you everybody..The insurance company do not want to change the doors because it's only a little damage.But i think i'll change the doors.

I feel sad for my BMW.It will be in the workshop for at least 2 weeks.

Get new doors. I wish I had. Somebody T-boned the passenger side of my E30 '88 325iX and ruined the door, quarter panel, and rocker panel. I didn't even need an alignment, so I just took their insurance money and bought my E36 to drive while I bought a welder and fixed the E30 myself. I already know how to MIG, TIG, and arc weld, I just don't own a welder. I'm always too busy to start such a time consuming project, so two years later, I still just ignore the big dent and drive both cars. Don't end up like me. And you know the doors will never look as good as new, there's too many creases. I would take a good look at your B-pillar, too.

Insist on new doors. Threaten to sue for new doors if they don't comply. Suing is the next step for the cost of the doors plus attorney's fees and court costs. Usually a letter from an attorney at this point is enough for them to cave in. If it does go to court, judges rarely side with the insurance companies. When a door is damaged to that extent, a significant portion of the structual integrity is lost. Pounding out the metal softens it even more, and using bondo dramatically lowers the value.

Doing that yourself is a bad bad idea, unless you do that for a living, you would never get it strait or have it look normal agian.

After long disccussion with the insurance company and threatened with changing another insurance company after everything settle on the BMW they insistded on new doors.

If the new doors arrive .How long will it takes to fix it?Any ideas.??

I had a dream last night that a gang of ricers beat me up and stole all the parts from my car, and my dream was me constantely trying to track them down and get my car parts back, it sucked !! >:|

Thank god it's only a dream..
I talked to the mechanic just now about the new doors.Shipment from (Most probably Germany)Will take two weeks.
Doors will be fixed at least 10 days.That what he said..I hope the workshop can paint the door the right silver for my car.Sometimes not all silver match the original colour of the car.

BTW i like your rims.Very fit for your car.
