How to remove 1997 318iC front bumper?

Someone backed into my daughter's 1997 318iC. Because of our insurance deductible, I am trying to determine if I have the skill to change the nose panel, I bought, which requires that I remove the bumper. I have reviewed the exploded views for the car at bmwfans.org, and am tempted to get started, but I request a step by step guide if someone has it. Plus any opinions on the level of competence required to change the nose panel, because the last thing I want is to mess it up, or get it done half way, and then have to carry a bunch of parts to a body shop to finish the job....

It is about a 94mb file, but worth every bit of it ... it's 600+ pages dealing with every repair you can imagine on our cars.
