hey guys, I really want a BMW, in the 6000 range and Im going to do things like filter changes, oil changes, things like that. making close to 2k month gross pay, and Im wondering if i will make enough to a BMW 1994-1996 318 to 325? Thanks guys!
Easily. That was my situation -- roughly -- when I purchased mine. I say your start looking around for a good deal. Don't fall in love with the car before you buy it. Take your time. You will enjoy your new car. That I can almost assure you.

I bought a 95' 325 last year for about $7000. And I'm on retirement income. It did have 125,000 miles on it, but that isn't bad for the I-6 engine. shouldn't be hard to find what you want. May start an ugly thread here, but I would save up for a 325, 328 and by-pass the 4 cylinder. Like everyone says, do your research, don't buy unless you can inspect and drive the vehicle. Paying a knowlegeable person to check the car wouldn't hurt either.

yeah man you shouldn't have any problem affording an e36 with that kind of income, just as long as you don't beat the crap out of it, requiring more maintanence than usual. not sure where you're from, but if you're from the states, start looking on autotrader.com you'll find TONS of options. and welcome!
hell, I pay 350/mo. just for my car payment, add 200 rent, 120 insurance, 100 utilities, at least 75 in gas, 40 cell phone, 40 internet, and then $$ for other stuff.....it adds up to be a lot.

AMG can't build an NA engine that can compete with M engines, so they stick in a supercharger and say their cars are faster. BMW could simply do the same, but they don't out of principle.</span>
ya u dont relize that my parents paid for my car not the parts i am just in debt to them right now i paid for the rims and other stuff during the summer i bring in like 1000 a month

One other thing, if you haven't already thought about it, is insurance. My BMW is my oldest vehicle. And it has the highset yearly cost for insurance of my three vehicles.
1995 BMW
1997 F-150
2000 Jetta

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for the help! Feel welcome already. Just wanted to ask another quick question, how much mileage is too much for a vehicle in the 94-95 range? and also, how reliable is a well maintaned BMW in the 100k range? how much more life can I get out of it? Thanks guys, i really appreciate the help!!!
My 1994 318is has 365000 kms, roughly 226000 miles, mosly highway and the original four banger keeps going, she's not too fast fast though... They are expensive to maintain but keeping an eye on her and running synthetic will keep the engine running for a long time and will keep the expensive breakdowns to a minimum.
