How To Get Rid Of The Entire Srs System?

Ok the SRS light is on in my car and I dont want to fix it. Id rather just get rid of the whole system and turn the damn light off. How is this done?

now, do you really wanna take out the whole system? i think it consists of airbags, seat belts, and all other safety features. a common problem is the seat belt pre-tensioner or something light that. its common on e36's. http://www.bmw-forums.com/forum/index.php?...c=27025&hl=belt

I know its the tensioner, but Im going to throw a Momo steering wheel on the car anyhow so I dont need the system at all. Can someone just tell me how to turn the light off permenanty?

I took the airbag out of my 6, and all I did was take the bulb out of the dash.
But you have to be carefull because it is illegal to remove the airbag on a car that came with one!
At least it is in Texas.

thats such a messed up law!!!! i HATE airbags!!!! but we're gonna blow the one from my old car up later for fun.....maybe we should put it in a mailbox first.....

to remove it, u need to disconnect the battery first
then the sensor(ecu box)...under back seat
then the airbag and steering wheel
then have fun ripping apart the dash to get the passenger side
then take a little sticker and cover the light or take out the bulb........
theres some other stuff too, but thats a basic overview.
