ok, so i was cleaning up the wires from my ellipsoids and angel eyes, damn dog comes hauling ass and scares the crap out of me, slip and pull a damn hose! sprays green liquid all over the place which im thinking is coolant, ok, fine, i take off the oil filter cap and filter to get my hand in to plug the hose back in, but lo and behold it doesnt quite fit right, i take the hose out to further inspect it, it looks like that thing that tightens the hose (dunno what its called) use to hold on to something pretty tightly, what im getting at is that the plastice tube that the hose plugs into is broken so the hose cant quite grip the tube...the tube where the hose is supposed to connect to is right behind the oil filter...please help..
94 318i ftw

It's a plain hose. So if you boguht a new hose clamp for like $1 could that fix your problem? Just buy a new clamp, put the hsoe back on, tighten down the clamp with a simple screw driver. It sounds like you jsut pulled off a hose connected to your radiator tank.

yea thats what happened, but it gets a little more complicated than that, the tube where u plug the hose into broke off, there not much left for the hose to clamp on to...

Yeah, thats a coolant reservoir. If you broke down the nosle pipe on the tank itself, you will need to replace the whole thing. I am sure you can check for it on eBay or any other part-selling site. It shouldnt be insanely expansive and no, there is no metal tanks.

YOu should be able to get a coolant reservoir brand new from bavauto.com if you don't feel like fishing around eBay for long. I would recommend that you take a pic of what broke so that we can make sure we are telling you the right thing.

ok a friend of mine came by, hes a mechanic form the dealership, well used to be hes on his own now, anyways, he came to see what the part was, he couldnt remember the name of it off the top of his head, but he said it carried coolant to the intake or something like that that he would call me back in a while with the part number
he says that part is realatively cheap about 20 or 30 bucks, but he wants to charge me like 120 cuz he has to take off parts of the engine or something!

If we understood you correctly, than radiator EXPANSION tank is what you looking for, however, according to your friend's oppinion, if the part needed cost 20-30$, than its not it. Whatever it is, a $100 for labour it kinda alot for job like this.

i c, well, dealer cost is like 75 for it but we get a discount so maybe thats why he told me its was like 30 bucks, maybe i can get it cheaper, my mechanic is putting a m3 engine into a 318 for another friend, and the other guy still has the 318 engine there, so ill probably just go pull parts of it...hes charging me 100 bucks cuz he has to take off alot of crap, well thats what he told me, so if it is the expansion tank is 100 bucks too much for labor then?

Yes, if it is expansion reservoir $100 for labour is too much. You can do it yourself if you comfortable with taking some parts of your car out and putting them back in.
