hood emblem

i just bought a new hood emblem because the other one was pretty beat. how do i get the old one off and put the new one on? ghead

Try to get a thin peice of plastic and get it under the emblem then start lifting up. Or u can get a thin tool, somethin. I used a screw driver wrapped in paper towel and pryed it up then stuck the peice of plastic under the emblem. Just be careful and don't scratch the paint.

well i dont know, but it was fighting me and its on there really tight.

i looked under the hood and there are two black "gromets" , for lack of a better word, holding it in there

unscrew the front part of the heat protection sheet under your hood and you'll find the two rubber gromets holding your emblem. push up the protruding metal part of the emblem using a screw driver. the emblem should pop out. if your gromets have been worn out, it might be wise to change it as well.

prying the emblem from atop your hood involves a risk of scratching your paint which can ba a ghead

ok I'm not to sure if mine is the same because I changed mine the same as BMW1990 and it worked fine the actual symble is in 2 pieces the BMW sign sticks onto the plate that has been stuck onto the bonnet with tose grommet things.
took me like 30 sec to replace it with a scewdriver and towel. I might have just confused every one?

i popped mine off from underneath with a thin cloth and thin screwdriver.
