As all of you might realize when you open your hood you notice a large piece of fabric on the underside of your hood. Which is suppose help with engine fires. As the fire (i hope this is never a case with anybody) it will burn the plastic clips and the fabric will drop on to the engine smothering the fire and not allowing the fire to breathe (so i was told). I ve seen some people at SCCA and some other cars remove this. hoping to get some of your inputs on this?
Hmm, that seems to make sense. I removed mine as a weight reduction type of thing. Have you found anymore information to confirm this? Or is it just speculation you've heard.

well my friend read it off of some where about the engine fire arrester. but i really dont know about. i was considering about taking it off because, i thought it might insulate or reflect heat back to the engine.
