Hmmm...OK...Press button to roll up window..goes up half way and stops...hit the button again and it rolls the rest of the way up....does same thing when I roll em up auto..any ideas....just on the driver side....
its a common problem on our 92-98 e36 bmws, especially the coupes.
all caused by a saftey feature where if something is blocking the window from going up... in most cases it stops because of friction... i dont remember who tried this, but someone on these forums took their door panel off and lubricated the tracking for the window and it worked
im thinking about trying it myself

I simply just hold the button down hard, and It works fine. On mine there are 2 stages when pushing it down. ON the first click, the window will stop and go down a little. If you push it down pretty hard, it goes up fine.
I always thought that it stopped to deflect wind and not be super loud when you have the window down, or other windows. With this german engineering, you never know what they will think of.
yeah, you have to push it down hard and click the 2nd stage of the switch in to get it to go all the way up, but that still requires you to hold it down
these windows were made for 1 touch easy roll up, but theres something catching on the window track. and it PISSES ME OFF! lol
