Hmm..Ok after a week of tryen to find the wiring Diag..for my car I gave up...went to the big city and got a BMW O2 sensor for 115..Im happy to say I put it on yesterday and she runs like a bat out of Hades....Moral...dont go cheap and just buy the right freaken part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm...Drinking gass mostly..But the worst part was the check engine light being on..drove me crazy...

hmm...so that's my problem!! DeefNDorf, can you please provide pics of where that damn O2 sensor is located? I need to replace mine too!!! Also, does anyone have any detailed instructions (the right tools) on how to do this? Please help. I'd appreciate it

Forget the dealership! they have got to be kidding me....$230 to replace ONE O2 sensor. I bought a Hayne's E36 manual, the O2 socket, and a new sensor....140.00 total!

borrow o2 sockets at local autozone for free... just $15 returnable deposit.

for 1995 and earlier: only one sensor (before cat) at autozone.com is around $62.99 a piece delivered - cheapest i have scouted for bosch with oem type connectors, so its plug and play. if you get it at store, they charge $6 s&h

for 1996 and later: same before cat sensor as above, plus one more after cat. OEM, right guys, OEM after cat sensor for $142 delivered through UPS at autopartsworld.com -best value for money.

Hmm..Yea now Im getten great gas milage...o2 are located right off the engine...you cant miss em..then you have 2 after the cat...I replaced one off the engine and that fixed it..though the diog first showed up as both..I had a dealer..whos a dealer..talk to BMW..they said rarley does both go out..it just screws em both up if one is bad....so get one..but it in b1 m1..then reset comp..if light stays off then you good..if it comes on..repeat on..m2 b2....BMW o2 sensor will run 115$ US....
