Yes you have to take the door car off. I guess you konw how to do this. I have read that they are custom made and glued in so some have said just replace them and put the new ones say on the dash. But i've had mine out and they were just bolted on on the inside so it should be an easy swap.

Hmm..so what the best way to remove the panels without messen the panels up..?

Unscrew the door pin.
Then undo the two torx screws behind the handle you normally use to close the door, (sorry i have no pictures I hope you get me, you should see two plastic covers)
Theres a few screws around the bottom of the door card I believe and you have to take off the little bit of plastic around the handle you use to open the car. To do this just slide it towards the front of the car. Can be a real pain to get off.
The edges of the card are held on with little white clips so just pull it off (but gently)
And mind you dont break any cables which might still be connected.
