Hmm..A buddy of mine has a 95 325ic....from 0- 30 mph he has slow accelertion..plus it makes a whistling sound....or like a high pitched wind sound...kinda crazy....think its the cat..?...would busting it out help..?.....

I find that I also whistle when accellerating. When I'm going over 100, I'm yelling "Yeaaaaaaaaah!"
