high beams always on

so i went to drive my car tonight, 97 318i, and i noticed that when i turn the lights to the first spot where all the running lights are just supposed to come on the high beams also come on, and then when i turn them to the headlights spot the high beams and low beams come on and i can't change them, i drove my car home at night two days ago and they worked fine does anybody know what may cause this? is it an easy fix? i just installed some new tailights today would that have anything to do with the headlights? also i think the foglights won't turn on

hmmm not sure.

I would check the switch and relay first, then check the wires themselves for a possible short. If the highs come on with the lows the two wires could be contacting at some point. Were that to happen though it would probably blow a fuse.

pull your turn signal switch towards you....but thats the obvious...i'm sure u already tried that.... :P
