Hid Fog Lights For E36?

I should have included this in the bumper thread I started, sorry. Since I have to replace them anyway, the fogs that is, I was thinking of going HID on the fogs. I swear I remember someone saying that they had gone this route but I cannot find any place online to buy a HID fog lights or an HID fog light upgrade kit for the E36 factory fog lights. Does anyone know a place to get these if they exist? Hell, do they even exist? I know why you need to go euro-ellipsoids for HID and DDE but does the same rule apply for HID fogs? Scrambling for parts and time at this point, as I have to get with the body shop asap if I am going to get the car fixed in the next two weeks. As always, thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

I think Umnitza sells a fog HID kit...I remember Matt saying something about it...

uh, actually, HID kits for fogs and headlights should be the same.

hid's are universal.. u just need to get the h1 conversion kit.. but puttin hid's in fogs is a pretty stupid idea.. IMO..

check out this guy... awesome service and prices and the products are sweet. I don't have the HID fogs but I do have his clear fogs which are made by depo and are excellent quality.

Why do you think its a stupid idea to go HID on the fogs? I knew that the fogs used a H1 bulb but I wasnt sure if the lenses were glass or plastic and if there was a needed 'swap' like with the headlights. Thanks for the advice and links.

two sets of fog lights from him. one for my car after my current ones got hit by a rock and another for my gfs car.
