HEY on my convertable top issue

you guys know Ive been having a bad time with my top well it turns out that the motortransmission to raise and lower the top and deck lid is stripped the shop put the top back up for me and told me about 800 to fix this problem

well I dont have the cash so is there any way to lower the top and be able to raise it manually? I would like to have it down sometimes but I am afraid the lid might blow open or something like that

but I also need to be able to close it

anyone?

in the trunk... left side. remove the panel and it should expose an emergency handle so u can manually disable the auto feature.

if u'd care to search the forums, i recently posted a remedy for this.

Cool

I'M SORRY... i misled you. The recent post i was referring to was for a Z3...

'newei... the release lever for the top is located under the left rear seat.

The only catch is once you release that lever, you won't be able to bring down the top until the power is restored to the system.

If at some time you'll need help with reconnecting the motors after the lever has been released, let me know...
