k i got a few problems....well....2.....hopefully u guys can help me out a lil bit...
1st problem, outta nowhere my traction control light, and my abs light came on, disabling my traction control.....any ideas?
2nd problem, well my back door lock hasnt seemed to work for a while now, i never really bothered with it cuz i never have more than 2 ppl in my car so the door is hardly used....but as of today, my trunk stopped lockin when i lock my doors....this is a very big problem as i have an expensive audio system back there....the trunk used to lock when i locked the doors, now it is constantly unlocked, impossible to lock, even with the key, cuz well theres a key hole, but the key doesnt seem to be right for it..i dunno.....anyways sorry for rambling...any response would be greatly appreciated....thank you...
btw i drive a 1995 325i incase that information is needed
thanx for the tutorial, im gonna try that out.....how much is the actuator?......n to the 1st guy, what is this central lockin system...lol sorry if thats a dumb question
Central Locking is so that when you lock your door with the key it locks everything. I turn my key and hear click on the doors, the trunk, and the gas tank lid.

as for traction and ABS, looks like a sensor went bad - when this happens the system shuts off because it can no-longer tell if a wheel is spinning faster or slower than it should be.
Go to autozone and get the codes pulled or if nobody will do it for free, there's always the $45 for a "half hour" (5 minutes) of work stealership. I think the traction control system should throw a code but probably wont make the CEL light up
Once you get the codes, you can tell what went bad and what needs to be replaced or fixed.
On the 5 series board, someone had the same problem...wasn't door lock actuators...rather there was a short somewhere in his doorlock wiring harness. He found that it was in his trunk where the wires bend alot when you open and close the trunk...he spliced new wires in there and the problem went away.
Check to see if you can lock your doors by hitting the central door lock switch twice (once a couple of seconds after the first try)...if the doors and trunk lock, then you probably have a short in your wires. If your doors don't lock, then its probably the actuators.

sweet thanx alot for the help guys...its greatly appreciated.......i'll check out the wires in the trunk....as for the abs light n traction control, i took my car to autozone, and they told me they cant read it, cuz its not the check engine light, i was a bit confused when they told me that....but maybe i'll try advanced auto parts or jegs or some other crap around here....thanx again
