I have a 94 320i with m50 engine + AT tranny.
There is this horrible squeeking / squeeling sound that is still a mistery.
The sound only come up above 40 km/h and around 2k - 3k RPM (not always), and it's more often & louder at above 60 km/h.
Also, it only happens when I hit the gas pedal and it's gone when i release it.
I bring it different dealers and they say different things:
1. ABS ?? (my ABS light is on so there is something wrong with it). This shop said the sound came from behind.
2. Tranny -> torque converter. This shop said the sound came from the middle, just below the shifter.
3. Brake
4. Fuel pump or tank or rail at the rear.
So what do you guys think?
Is it one of the above possibilities or is it another thing?
