Help!!! Several Questions To Ask...

Hi, need help to find the answers to this questions. i own a 318i 1993 E36.

1. get a rear left "whoop whoop" when speeeding up.....then goes slightly at regular speed but returns when i slow down.. i just got new 18" rims..the sound went softer but now its back...its bloody annoying..

2. light in the instrument cluster is on..looks sumthing like this (O) (if i remember correctly). i think it might be related to the problem above.

3. i also sometimes get a petrol smell in the cabin when starting the car (intermittant problem)

If someone could help me with these problems it would be much appreciated!!!

1- I'd say your brake pads are worn to metal.

2- If the light looks like a broken circle that's the brake pad sensor telling you to replace the pads.

3- Look in the engine bay and underneath the car while its running. Maybe you have a leaking gas line.

rear brakes were changed less half than a year ago....could it be CV joints or sumthing like that?

No. Check front brakes too? Also if the brake's were replaced but didn't have OEM sensor's replaced at the same time, it'll cause this to come on. Do your brakes feel/sound fine?

could be rear wheel bearing making that noise..

brakes arent totally smooth. its sorda jerky abit as i slow down....hmmmm how much do the oem sensors go for?

what do you suggest in trying to fix the noise from the rears? should i just change the brakes and the sensor?

yeah its your brakes. if ur braking and its wobblin

if noise is coming from rear, could be your tires rubbing the fender, you should roll the fenders. if u havent

the mild gasoline smell when you start up is your catalytic converters taking a dump.
