Help Quickly Please

I've got my current engine pulled out and I looked on the new //m engine and say m52. Now I need some serious info quickly about the model numbers. I've seen people saying a m3 engine will say m52 or it will say s52. Which is it? This is supposively from a 97 m3. Can someone please call me with a resulte at 509-220-5232 as I have very limited access to a pc.

I got fucked... it's all good though. still putting in a 2.8l with an obd1 conversion so it'll still be pretty good... I'm contacted my CC company to dispute the charge so it's cool

Lying pos. I contacted him and the police department in his city but he hasn't responded yet. the PD told me to give him 48 hours to respond with my proposition of he sends me back 1000 and we'll call it even. otherwise, I'll file a report and my CC company will go ahead with the claim. until then I have everything on hold giving this guy the benefit of the doubt. Another thing I noticed that I couldn't see before is the VIN number sticker was taken off. this engine might be hot. I'll use that against him if possible.

that would really suck if it was stolen...hopefully you will get some of your money back and get that engine installed and running in your car

yeah thanks a lot Sean and thanks for calling me. It'll work fine. Problem I'm worried about though in the new chip I had specially made by autowerks. It was designed for a 95 m3 motor not 2.8l. I'm thinking my current chip will work with the motor but not the new one so that sucks... but it'll be an odb1 2.8l motor which is tight.

Nice looking engine none the less...so I guess he just slapped a M3 valve cover on there and called it an M3??

on the lower half block there is actually a 1inch block that says the engine size like this one says 28. That piece was covered in some werid goo. After I cleaned it off I could see what it was. The VIN number paper had been removed. it didn't look like any grease removed it. And then paper on the engine that says the model number was also covered in something weird.

no but I can proove that he was in possession of a stolen engine... having an engine with a removed vin is illegal

The first picture is a totally different engine. Look at the oil filter housing.
