Hey nice car. I always love that Hellrot red! Your car is bogging down because of those bottle cap rims!!! Sorry man, first thing I would do to that car is get some new rims. Don't know about the power problem though.

I have a 318i and it also drags like that when 3 conditions are present:
1. I'm using a low grade octane fuel...like 89 or lower
2. I have alot a wieght in the car
3. My car has not been service for oil & fluids in a long time
a combination of two or more of these elements may be the cause of your problem.
also maybe it could be more complicated
1. your AFM (Air flow meter) needs replacing as well
2. your tires have incorrect/ too low/too high/ uneven tire pressure or you need new tires

1. Paint:
paint match the grey sideskirts, and bumper trims... ($100 DIY from paintscratch.com to $300-$500 at a good paint shop)
2. Rims and/or tires:
Ebay is the best source for good stuff..I got new OEM rims off a Z4 with new tires on them for $439 total off of ebay last august when I first got my 318i. Also check www.tirerack.com. But be prepared to spend anywhere from $500 for simple 16 or 17 inches to $1000 for 17+ chrome, blinged out rims.
3. Lighting:
Change to Glass Euro Ellipsiods Projectors Head lights w/ Angel Eyes (DDE)
A. good: Depos about $450
B. or best: ZKWs about $650 at www.umnitza.com (or ebay)
Don't get the cheapo ones off ebay for $90
C. Euro Clear Tails and Corners...any brand goes with Depos being the better brand. Ebay is the best place or www.bavauto.com or umnitza or jlevi. Your pick!
There is more you can do...but there are the basic first three mod that every E36 driver should consider....

i'll finish number 3 for u... the 318 is a 4 cyl, u have to understand that! your not gunna be able to do 0-60 in 6 seconds like others... have u had a faster car b4, is that why it seems slow,
because i think the 318 only have like 120 hp.. which isn't much... anyways, i thought i would throw my 2 cents in!

That is 184 HP Sir!!!! (However the 318is is slower than the 318i sedan.)
190 HP if you got the 95 octane and take out your extra wieght!!!!
