ok well, here's the deal.

Have decided to upgrade to something that has bigger cohones than my 320i SE, so, given that it is in brand spanking condition with everything under the hood new, excluding the engine and including a great 6 speed gearbox, and also a flipscreen GPS and all the rest that comes with it, i am selling Tyra and had my eye on the following:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ssPageName=WDVW

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ssPageName=WDVW

The second one is obviously the more sound choice to make, however the first one has the SMG i mean how much better does it get.

Please help can't decide.

Can't believe i am selling Tyra after all the work on her and couple of days after puttin on brand new headlights. Thinking of keeping the headlights for the new one though.

ridikuledind has a little shameless behaviour in the past
The 2nd one...why?
-1995 and older cars are not as good, try to stick with 1996 and newer
-the 1st one has had 6 owners and the 2nd one has had only 2
-the second one has less miles and is a 1998
-the first one is purple (its a cute color, but who wants cute)

The first one...Why?
-its cheaper

Good luck (my 2 cents)

"...but what do i know, i drive a 1995 318is and would like either one"

If money is not the problem I would go for the 2nd one, cuz the 3.2L is newer with less miles on it. The 3,2 (right hand drive) is the rarest (from the 1st car are 3,152 cars built, the 2nd one only 2,845)

It seems they've swapped the SMG gearbox into that 94 model, because they were only available on the 3,2 versions.

Anyway, good luck!

Well looks like i might have to stick to my 320. Between my driving bans and my accident a year ago the insurance for any of them will be between 4 and 5k pounds a year. Man that is like 10000 dollars what is the matter with these people. Ok any english people out there know a good and cheap insurance company?

The thing i hate the most is that you see these adverts on tv about these insurance company and they all say thay want young drivers. Well i am 22 and that is young. Turns out it is too young.

If you have the cash, the second one.

EDIT: I posted the above message while you were writing the post above this one..... Man, that sucks. That is way more than I would ever allow myself to pay for insurance. Upgrade to a different non-M3 e36

I've driven without insurance. It is illegal in th US. If it is fair game in the UK, maybe you can think about it..... Hoever, wise advise would be that you pass on this project.

Is it fair game in the UK? Are you kidding me? The fine starts at 7k and goes upt o actual prison i heard.
Apparently finland is a place you can drive without insurance. My housemante is finnish and his friend back home had an accident, now he is gonna spend the rest of his life paying of damage rates. Worse than a morgage

The driving without iinsurance was just a joke.

I cant understand this though i mean for my current 320 i pay 1400 a year. Punds that is. Why so much more for the M3.

Oh and also on the M3 i can't get the third party insurance i have to get fully comp. Man this is silly, it is also more expensive coz of the body kit and coz the colour is rare and it's more likely to get stolen. ghead ghead ghead ghead ghead

Screw the insurance... get the car... I've seen how you blokes drive... you're all mad no wonder you pay so much for insurance... fast lane on the right... get on the proper side of the road already.... (joking)

The M3 is considered a two door sports car whereas your 320i is a four door sedan. The not so friendly actuaries in insurance companies place these two vehicles in two completely different risk categories, hence your large $$ difference... never mind your age...

I pay $900 Canadian dollars for my 1994 318is and upon purchase of my 325is 1995 my insurance will be $1000 CD$ per year for both vehicles. A buddy of mine drives an E46 M3 and pays $1200 CD$ per year... full coverage... but he's 38 and married

What? The first one doesnt have SMG, it's just a "hotword" used in the title line. And if you can't afford the insurance when you go to buy the car, then go and buy something else. It's not fair to other drivers and yourself to be driving uninsured

Edit: I payed attention to more than just the titles this time, and it seems like the second e36 does have SMG. Very interesting. Maybe he means to say triptronic or whatever its called, idk
