Help, I'm Stranded In Kansas City!!!

I my tensioner pulley gave out on my accessory belt on my 94 325i. I’ve got a replacement belt, but none of the places that are open on Sunday had a pulley in stock. Tomorrow is Memorial Day, so most places will be closed. If anyone has an idea or has an extra pulley in the KC area, please let me know.

Come on... doesn't anyone have a pulley. I'll pay top dollar. It's the same pulley used on almost all E36s, E46s, E34s, E39s, Z3s, and 3.0 X5s.

Well, I guess I'm stranded for another night. I used the part number on the eBay chart that I linked to, so I could reverse lookup the BMW part number. Then I called around to the handful of part stores open today. I finally found one that had the part. I got the part and went to install it. When I got the old pulley off, I knew instantly that I had a problem. The inner diameter was different. The pulley I received from the part store is only used for the A/C pulley. I guess it’s another night in KC (well, Olathe, KS). We’ll see what happens when the dealership is open in the morning.

I was right around the corner before I went to KC. I was in Aurora, MO. I wish it would have happened while I was there, but then I would have missed my brother's wedding in KC. Hopefully, I will get it fixed today.

It funny to think that a once $30,000 car can be stopped dead in its tracks by a $50 plastic wheel.

Turns out the $50 plastic wheel is a $100 assembly. With production before 9/94, you have to buy the whole tensioner even though the pulley can be easily independently removed. I should be back on the road soon.
