Help with heated seats...mine dont work!

So, My E36 has heated seats. Only thing is the driver's side(that would be mine) doesn't work. I push the button and it lights up; but nothing happens. I looked in the fuse bax and can't find anything. I am not sure what is what underneath the seat other than the directional motors. I don't have a true repair manual yet. All I have is this crappy Hanes manual that is so general and undetailed it doesn't even cover the option for power seats. Any help or pointers anybody could give me would help.

This site offers an online Bentley manual... I would recommend looking at that. Perhaps some of the wiring in your seat has gone bad somehow, gotten cut, grounded out.... I'm sure some other people have ran into this problem and have more to say on this issue......

should the bottom part of the seat heat up? only my back heats.

I would assuma so. my passenger seats heats both the bottom and back parts of the seat.
