This is gonna sound dumb but i removed my foglights today in order to replace the bulbs, and now i can't get them back in. I have a 97 328is. I guided the 2 nubs into their grooves and then opened the latch but it just keeps clicking close and nothing on the other side locks into place. I'm pretty sure that metal rod has to get inbetween the latch while it closes in order to lock it into place but its imposible to get the rod in there.
well im pretty sure that i broke the clips in the process of removing the fog lights. Does anyone know how much it is to get that replaced at a bmw dealership? Thanks
The foglights are a bit of a pain to snap back into place. The best way to avoid any damage is to remove the covers underneath to access the housings. To get the foglights to snap into place takes a bit of force, and supporting the housing while you push on the foglight helps it snap in a bit easier. If you did break the housings, they are approx. $35.00 a piece, but they are very easy to replace on your own. There are 4 philips screws holding the 2 piece housing brackets in place. I don't know about your dealership, but mine charges $120.00/hour shop rate, so by the time all is said & done at the dlrshp, your looking between $130.00 & $190.00. Good luck

your gunna need a new braket.. your better off finding 1 on ebay! they are all universal!
Yes, it would. I hit a raccon, which busted my foglight and braket sometime around march. I purcahsed a new brakcet from the dealer for $45ish dollars. I ended up having to replace the foglight, and my other was messed up and old and yellowed, so I bought new ones from under 110 at bimmerparts.com
OE ZKW fogs too. You can go with the ebays if you like, but I don't care for the cyrstal clear fog look.

I agree with el presidente.... a new fog like assembly and fog light would be your best bet... it will make it look newer.. and you will have a new part on your car.. which is always good. As for where to buy it.. I would again say bimmerparts.com.. they have some very competitive prices and good parts support..
yeah one of my brakets broke so in order to get my foglight back in i took the black thing off from behind the bumper, that keeps mud out of the engine, sqeezed my hand back in there held the braket in place and snapped in the foglight, once the foglight is in place and snapped it wont move and the braket wont fall out, been driving like that for about a year with no problems!
