HELP: 93 318is w/ No Spark

So I have the option to buy a 318is thats pretty well set up for auto-x/track days.
Im looking for some input from the people who know these cars more than i do.
Background on the problem: The current owner had it on the road and was driving it a couple days a week. He said it had been running perfect. One day he parked it in his driveway, the next morning it wouldnt start.
Its since been determined that it doesnt have spark.

It has new coils/wires/plugs.

Is there a chance that the ECM/PCU just went bad? Cam or Crank sensor went bad?

What about something within the security system? Do they have some sort of disabling feature?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

crankshaft sensor I would say, a diagnostic read would let you know for sure. Miight be as simple as a blown fuse.

are there any non-obvious fuses to check?

is there another fuse box, other than the big one thats under the hood on the drivers side?

I dont think the check engine lights on... would it still be throwing a code?

Check under the steering column, in the glove box and in the boot for any hidden hatches for fuses, Yes it will still through up codes without the CEL illuminated.

i'll get a diagnostic hooked up to it and see if its telling me anything

would a crank sensor just "go bad" or would it start running really shitty first?

is there a good place to go through to get these parts? a place with decent pricing?

Crankshaft sensor will just go.........try ebay, dont know where you are ?? not in your profile? location.

In the boot means in the trunk.

Have you checked the ignition coil?
