buy a new fan clutch! i loved the sound it would make on my 325i, but it was robbing precious hp! i replaced both the clutch and fan blades with new ones for a z3, i got both for lik 40 bucks, but i think each is like 100 at the dealer...

Hmmmm, I haven't looked into this in awhile. if I recall any e36 6 cylinder differential should fit into your vehicle. And if i'm not mistaken 9which i very well could be), I think it's only the e36 M3 which has a different 6 bolt input flange. I thought the 3 series had a 4 bolt input flange. It's been awhile, i might have mixed it up and it could actually be the e36 3 series has different output flanges. Or maybe all 3 flanges are different. I know the e36M3 has stronger axles for sure, but don't know if this is also mated with different output flanges.

In any case you should look into a Limited slip differential, rather than another open differential. It will give you the grip when coming out of those corners. The 95 M3 has a 3.15 25% lockup LSD, and the 96+ has a 3.23 25% LSD.

Welcome to the Werkz!!!

I would get that fan clutch taken care of sooner rather than later, owing to the fact that the fan is apt to fail catastrophically.
