my installer wants to charge me about $540 for a pair of hella angel eyes without installation. is this a reasonable price? i have read that these are really good lights... has anyone ever had any problems with these?

which implies he will be paying for installation was well. umnitza is a good source for ZKW. They may varry hella, I don't know. Personally, I don't like the Hella look.
And in case you weren't planning on it, install them yourself. I have a writeup in my sig and will be reloading those pictures sometime tomorrow.

yah you might be able to find them cheaper elsewhere, and it would be a good idea to save yourself the installation charge and just install them yourself

Name one thing an "installer" sells that doesn't imply they install it. If he was selling it, he would a "retailer" or "merchandiser" or "seller" or any other "er" ending word involving sales. Installer, however, is not sales.
