Wowsers, so I just got back from the shop where I had my UUC System U exhaust installed, and all I have to say is, "wow." They aren't kidding when they said you will fall in love with your car all over again. I've been out driving it for a few hours just because I'm in love with the note.
It sounds AWESOME at almost every RPM. When you start the motor you hear this low rumble, and as you accelerate it just screams along with you. It isn't overly loud like all those civics with can exhausts either. It's loud enough to be sexy, but not too loud as to annoy. Combined with a Confoti CAI, it's sex on your ears.
My only complaint is it's a bit too loud at around 3-4rpm when you are crusing on the freeway, but that is only a matter of getting used to it. I'll post pics and sound clips soon!!
p.s. - When I let off the accelerator it kinda gurggles and sounds like it's bubbling almost. It's a description you would only understand if you heard it before. It's almost like there is some back pressure being released and it's just bubbling the extra air out. Is this normal?
how much did u pay for it, plus installation? what shop did u have it installed at?
that poping noise... is it like the noise that ricers sometimes get randomly... like a loud POP shit noise? i usually notice it in the shittier ricers... like old 92 hatchback civics that look like shit, and they have a 20 inch fart can
$165 for an install, plus they did a full diagnosis on my car - fluid levels, belts, etc. The poping noise KIND of sounds ricerish, I think it's deeper than that though. It always happens when I left off the accelerator.
yay backfire
backfire CAN be normal depending how big of a piping increase u had.
me ive gone through a bunch of imports...turbo'd a 240 and modded an RX-7....backfire on all of them running an inch bigger than stock
id love to see what it looks like installed and how it sounds!
congrats man
I know what backfire is in theory...but I don't think I quite understand the concept. Is it just air that is being caught up in the pipes and is being slowly released?
Here are some crappy 2 second pics of the exhaust...I couldn't keep my arm steady for some reason. The piping increase was pretty significant, so you think the backfire is healthy?
