Heater or vent problem?

Hey everyone I have a very confussing problem that I havent been able to locate the answer to. My problem is that my heat works great when its on the defroster or the floor but when I go to turn on the Front vents the air then becomes cold. Does anyone have ANY idea why?

oh and the amount of air is the same there is no decrease in airflow at all, it just turns cold.

Some cars have the front vents set to get cold air only unless the temp selector is set to full hot.

The wheels at the top of the console-- do you have it turned to "blue"??

(I wish I could describe it better. I just bought mine, my first BMW, Sunday, so I am a total beginner here...)
