Heater stops working

My heater has been acting strange lately and just stops working for no reason. The screen showing the temp and fan speed just goes blank too. If I shut the car off and turn it back on it starts up again. It's happened about 4 of 5 times so far and the last time it happened, it started itself back up again with out re-starting the car...vVery weird. Has anyone had the same problem or know what's going on?

i had that same problem... i have a '96 328i. I just took it intot he dealer and hadem fix it.. i think it was the blower motor that needed to be replaced.. was a long time ago.. so im not too sure.

sounds like a relay malfuctioning to me , however check your fuse just in case (could be broken but not unfused)

actually scrach the fuse idea it works the other way , it will refuse after driving sometimes , i would expect on startup it would be dead then go back on.

like i said above its just in case, sort of a long shot.
