I have a 1993 325is. The heater is not working hasnt been since i baught the car. the controls light up sometimes, like the individual lights on the buttons when u turn them on and off. but soon as i quit messing with it and start the car it stops working.
At no point does it ever blow air. not sure how to go about diagnosing this so any help is appreciated.
Could be a faulty regulator, common problem cos they upgraded it around 1998>...
It is sometimes referred to as the "Hedgehog" regulator and should be found behind the dash attached to the blower box, quite awkward to change too!
On which side of the dash? And cand you give me an idea what it looks like? Ill try to google it but itd be cool to get an idea from someone whos changed it before. Also it there a way to test it before I replace it?
Personally I would get another one anyway...
Living in the UK my "hedgehog" regulator is under the right side of the footwell... Tricky to get to and you will need a strong back lol
It is a block with cooling fins on it, looks a bit like a neuclear power station but only about five or six inch in size LOL
If you PM me your last SEVEN vin numbers I will take a look this weekend (I have this capability)...
