Heater only blows hot when driving?

I started my car this morning to let it defrost my windows and warm the inside up, well when I went to get it, the back was defrosted pretty well, but the front wasn't at all, so I got the ice scraper out and got it off, well when I got in it was still pretty cold and my seats weren't warm from the seat warmers...When I started driving, the air got warmer but my seats were still cold...Any idea's?

You might want to check your coolant level. I had the same problem and took my car to the BMW dealership. They got it working by topping off the coolant. They also told my that if it started doing it again with the coolant level full that it might be the water pump.

Do bimmers have thermostats? If this was a domestic car issue, I'd say you need a new thermostat.

A blown water pump would tend to overheat the engine at speed.

hehe...I could see how you wouldn't know....BMW just can't do anything normal with their cars can they? In this case they aren't being different just to be different....they do indeed have thermostats.

yes they have thermostats, and yours could be stuck slightly open, causing a constant and nearly full flow of coolant into the engine. the seat warmers is another puzzling piece to this, if i were you id get out your manual and check some fuses.
