heater doesnt work properly

im having a problem with my heater. no matter what setting i have my temp dials set at, nothing but heat comes out. this is great because i live in minnesota, but its 90 today and i am starting to not like it. i can still control my face vents with the dial in the vent, and the a/c works through the face vents, but the floor and the defrost blow nothing but heat. anything you guys could think of would be very helpful

It could be your a/c heater unit behind your dash. Looks like this:

But, I just don't know. My BMW climate control system seems to have a mind of it's own. I am still trying to figure out why my heater now works after not working for a couple of months. And also A/C doesn't work at certain speeds (i.e. over 70) <--not a bad problem but sometimes for long trips can be annoying.
