hello can any one tell me if the heater core is in the dash board and how do i replace it. if anyone can give me some instructions that would be great. thank you. i have a 1992 bmw 325is
Hey are you upgrading to the digital dash like the newer 96 model? If so then you will need the digital heater core and the center heat to cold vent switch plus the control dash switches. It is really easy to do the conversion...You have to remove the dash and steering wheel, i removed the front seats for more room. But everything is mostly plug and play and time,it took me and my girl about 3 hours out and in.Good luck

But seriously with two people that know what they are doing moves quickly...All my girl had to do was disconnect every thing she saw that was plugged in and know how to work a screw driver and a ratchet, just tha simple. No power tools needed

Yeah but I doubt the op is a mechanic. I'm just saying if this is your first time, and obviously it is for the op, it's going to take longer than 3 hours. I don't want people to think it's super easy because I've seen people get in way over their head before.
Oh wow thanks for the heads up guys. I'm keeping the old dash so no need for the conversion kit. This sounds like a weekend project so I guess I better bundle up its a lil nippy in NY.
you are correct about being in over your head and on a scale of one to ten it would be a seven. But like i said in the tread it takes time.It took me with help that long but someone not as inclined would take longer...My suggestion would be to get a repair manual so that they could refer to it if need be. But let me just say this so there is no confusion" the job may take lesser skilled people longer to complete"

How do you know its not circulating into the engine? Is the car overheating?

No its not overheating in the indicator of the dashboard, the mechanic reply that could be the radiator cap because its getting empty just the reservoir and not the hole system but i will be checking this week with a new cap and full of bmw antifreezer
