heat inside cab

I recently noticed that I'm getting some heat in the cabin from under the driver's side even when the vents are closed. It also gets unusually hot in the space under the radio. Is this a heat shield issue? Any suggestions on fixing this? thanks

do you have any mods that would require making new holes in the heat sheild?? other than that, i have no idea. good luck man

its most likely just the heat that the engine is produceing... i wouldn't woryr about it.. unless it gets REAL HOT!

thanks...it's hardly close to real hot...sometimes buying an older car after only driving new ones (not bimmers) for years tends to make me question the little things...the car has no mods to answer your question

I recently bought a 1998 328i and the same thing is happening to me! After driving for a few minutes I start to feel heat coming from underneath the dash on the driver's side. If I touch the plastic under the dash that is also pretty %$#@ hot. Today it was about 70 F outside and the windows were down and i could still feel the extreme heat on my legs even while going 50 mph. And my heat/ac is completely off with no "wind" coming from the lower vent.

I really need to figure this out! It's making me sweat while driving when i should be enjoying the new 193 hp at my fingertips!
