Heat And Ac Will Not Work!!

First of all i have a 96 328is. i bought it this summer and have only used the ac probably three times. I usually just ride with the windows down. Well today it was raining so i went to turn on the ac and nothing happens. The fan wont come on, defrost, heat, nothing works! NOTHING. also today it said my Coolant was low. Could this be a reason why the ac will not work? I will be extremely pissed if i have to pay for this. DAMNIT Thsi happen to anyone else

This fix worked for me but to each his own.

i drive a 96 328is as well and had the same problem. What i did was found a guy off of ebay and for about $50 i sent the climate control in the mail, he fixed it, and sent it back.

Yea if i had of used the web site listed above it would of cost me much less, but this is assuming i could do it right without causing even more problems that wouldn't be repairable, so i would have to buy the part from bmw for about $400

If you think u can do it yourself, go for it, but if not id go with the ebay guy, just search "bmw digital climate control" and it should come right up

In total this took me about 2 hours and cost $15.25 CAD.
I didn't feel comfortable doing the soldering so I had someone do it for me (15 minutes and $15). The capacitor was $0.25.
What took me the longet was taking the circuit board out of the plastic housing...that was a bit of a pain.
