Well guys, I've come to the realization that I got totally screwed on buyin the 95 BMW 325I.. I paid $4500, has 150 k miles, and after spending $1500 in repairs, I find out the transmission is still screwed up ($2000 repair) and needs new struts and back needs new shocks, all in all, I'm looking at $3000 in more repairs

makes you want to puke huh? Anyways, talked to the shop I took it to and they sell European cars and guy said I could probably get around $4000-4500 for the car.. So, I think I'm going to cut my losses and just try to sell it.. As painful as it is, it really sickens me how bad of a deal I got on the car. If I get $4 K for the car, I'll have lost $2500...

Lesson learned I guess.. But chit happens right?

FYI -
has new exhaust system, new water pump (metal impeller), new instrument cluster, engine checked out to be in great condition...

Why dont you do this.....

i bought an extended warranty from a third party company, not bmw

they cover everything you just mentioned and alot more...

it would be well worth it to get the warranty... everyhting would be covered... would cost you nothing!

-i just had a bunch of stuff blow on my car.... u can bring it to any mechanic, but i bring it to my local bmw dealership.... and they fix it... fully covered in the warranty!

-so u dont even have to bring it "to your friends, brothers, sisters mechanic" to get a cheap deal, bring it straight to your local bmw dealership! and let them overcharge the warranty comapny rather than you!!!!

for 95 w/ 150K I dont think you can get coverage for the 3rd party warranty

Also, be careful of the aftermarket warranties....they often DONT cover most small things that break (the same ones which cost a couple of hundred dollars each fix)...

The stuff they DO cover most charge a deductible...mine is $100...

and they usually only pay labor up to a certain amount...I will give you an example...

My problem was a door actuator...(among the other problems that I had at the time...but this was the ONLY one the warranty covered)...they estimated $250...
I have to pay a $100 deductible...oh yeah...and keep bending over because the warranty only covered up to $65 for labor....this BMW stealer charges $100/hour

So...out of the $250 estimate for this particular job...I would pay around...$180...

nice huh....that warranty cost somewhere in the $1500 range....

I've got the car under consignment with a European car dealer/shop... I'm hoping to get at least $4500 for it.. asking $5000, told them I would go down to $4000 for it.. If anything, I'm sure someone could use the engine.. has a new A/C compressor and pulleys, and all the other stuff I listed before.
