yeah the first one you linked is for an e30, or an e36 318ti, not a regular e36 318. What I was saying is that the prices were high for a limited slip with that many miles. There isn't a 4.10 from the factory for normal e36's. There is a 3.91 lsd though.

new to all this. i am as well looking for a diff as i have blown mine, i would ideally like a lsd, is there one for a 318is or a way to get one in it!! im not to sure about the whole diff ratio thing so dont know if anyone can help me!!
i head there diff ratio and wont want kill what power i do have in E36 318is want ratio should be looking out for . i dont want all power at top end iam more off 0-60 kind guy . yipee iam get my lighten flywheel to so should help
The auto E36 318i came with a 4.10 diff I do believe. I have heard that about the casing, but never had it verified. The 318i you basically have two diff options, the manual which I don't remember the gearing for and the auto. If you have an auto you really don't have any choice. You "can" use the diff from a 6cly E36 but the drive shaft and rear subframe mounts are all different. I would need to actually talk to some one that did the E30 internals into the E36 4 cly diff casing before I tried it.
