hey, i have seen these Hammerstands in BavAuto for a while. They cost about $80 in the catalog i have but i have seen online that the prices have dropped. Here is the BavAuto description of them...

NEW! Shave seconds off your shift times with the Hammerstand! You waste a lot of time during shifting because you must depress the clutch pedal beyond its true disengagemend point....Just step on the clutch pedal as hard as you like -- the Hammerstand stops the pedal at the optimum position...It's machined from a solid cylinder of 303 stainless steelfor strength and durability. It screws into factory mounting location. And it's infinitely adjustable so you can set it at the precise point where the clutch finally disengages...NOTE: will not work on BMWs in which the clutch pedal must be depressed to start the engine.
Hammerstand clutch stand HAMMERSTAND $79.99
...so what i need to know is...if anyone here has a hammerstand or one by a nother brand (can't remember what they are called but i have seen other brands) could you please take one simple measurement for me? I need the length of the bolt from the bottom of the flat top to the end of the bolt. If someone could give me these measurements it would sure help me out. Thanx for all help in advanced!
HAHaha what a crock of sh*t lol. They are called "Clutch stops" UUC sells one for $20 but even that's too much. I went to lowes and built one out of a elevator bole a few nuts and it was just as good. Best part it only cost $3. Don't buy it from bavauto its a ripoff! Search bimmerforums for the parts list it's very simple.

well that is the whole point of me asking the length of the bolt. I had one machined from a friend for free and the bolt part is extra long, i need to know the length so i can cut it at the correct length. Could you please tell me how long you left your bolt at?
