Yeah, I used to want angel eyes on my E36 as well, but lately I've decided that I would rather have the glass headlight units with some good halogen bulbs instead! =D...
I only liked the angel eyes because of their intimidating appearance...

if u look hard enough, u can find depo headlights on ebay, for about 200 bucks, shipped! and it would include the harness.. thats what u did... but i got mine for dirt cheap.... 140 shipped... heh.. i got a bargain...
I say go with the brightest. Bluest is just faking Xenon. You can afford to go for the cool blue tint if you have the added luminance that HIDs provide. Halogens aren't as bright, so bluish halos are even less bright.
