You guys should really consider investing in one of these. I got one to replace my damaged factory panel and the quality is much higher than the OEM plastic parts.

Installed a JTD Underpanel on my 97 M3 about 2 years ago (2009. A fairly easy install, but first check that your plastic fender liners are in good order. If the fender liner is loose or cracked the underpanel will not function properly. The underpanel is partially supported by the fender liner. The panel has bowed about 1/2" in the rear center as it has no support there. I do recommend this panel as a big improvement over the stock set-up.
