grinding in 1st and second gear even when clutch is fully pressed?!!
wat could this be? syncro? im grinding almost everytime, even in slow shifts, i can feel the shifter grinding in 1st and 2nd...sometimes i cant even get into 2nd...
not sure if it's possible to top off clutch fluid (iirc, it's a shared reservoir for brakes and clutch) but have a look at that and see if it needs topping off. If that doesn't do it, it may be your synchros going, but I've seen older tranny's do better. Does it work better if you double clutch? If you can double clutch it smoothly it's probably just the synchros going.

i would have to say your syncros , if its only the lower gears, youve probably blow them. the actual gears could be screwed up from a possible life of hard driving. start your saving young man you may need to get a new tranny soon
this is true, but its speed, he cant drive.. double clutching takes a mans touch :P
but on a serious note yes you can get around it, but how long will you want to go? i guess its really speeds choice, if you want you can drive it untill you have saved the money to replace or untill it dies.
