The camera I took the pics w. is a $400 Sony Mavica Mini Disc Digital Camera. I had to crop them and resize them so thats why there alil pixelated. I have a wicked nice Sony Hi8 with night vision and light and all the goodies camcorder but I dont have the slightest clue of how to hook it up to my computer. So I made the video with the digital camera. I know its not that good but what can you do.
I took the spare tire out, cut the metal pole holding it into place. Then got a dynomat trunk kit at tweeter for like $150 put it in with a blow dryer and the roller. Bought some particle board. Measured about 4" b4 the back seat to the end of the trunk cut out a rectangle piece. Then cut out another rectangular piece for where the battery is to make it air tight. I put foam around the piece by the battery and then used this foam in a spray can its like $3-4 at any home depot. Then put my subs on the particle board traced them then took a sozal and cut the holes out. Then I took foam and went around the edges of the board. I used this foam thats like 7 feet tall and about 2" thick around. Its in the plumbing section of the depot. Like $1 I think. Its used to insulate 1/2" hot water lines of a house. So I cut out pieces then put them around the edges and then screwed it into place and then chaulked it and used that foam in a can to make it air tight. Then cut out rectangle for where my amp is pieced it in tight, screwed it down. Then I was going to use a small piece of wood and lay it over it all and use liquid fiberglass which is only like $20 then painted it which would have looked sick but I was strapped for time. So I went to Walmart and bought replacement carpet, which comes in a roll for $8. Cut it to size, glued the edges down. Drilled two tiny holes for the speaker wire for the subs. Think I used 14 guage? Then Grounded my amp out on the dead bolts for the trunk, which is one of the best spots. Then ran my power wire from the battery to the amp along the front of the trunk. Used 4 gauge wire. It hits really good. I was impressed. Theres a TINY rattle but not noticable unless your standing a foot from my trunk. I have a cap with a digital read off im going to put in this weekend. Maybe 2 blue neons. But thats how I did it took about 4-5 hours with all of the running around. Its really not very exspensive and people think your some ballar when they see it. If you try it tell me how it goes.
Hi-8 sucks dick, it's analoge. I'd toss it and get a mini-DV camera that can record in still-frame mode isnstead of interlaced so you don't have to de-interlace once you import to computer. Mini-DV is fully digital, not analoge like hi-8 so the quality is immedately better.
I hate soney's crap, except for their home theater equipment and portable CD players, most everything else is just bland, extremely expensive consumer junk.
I agree about the camcorder. But I got it for free so thats $300 i didnt have to spend so I didnt really complain. Not like Im going to be like f*&# you I dont want that free camcorder.
